COVID-19 NEWS UPDATE 3/23 *SCHOOLS CLOSED FOR 2 MORE WEEKS*

ANOTHER JUMP IN THE NUMBER OF CONFIRMED CASES OF CORONAVIRUS IN PENNSYLVANIA TODAY.  165 CASES HAVE COME BACK POSITIVE MAKING 644 TOTAL NOW IN THE STATE WITH MORE TESTS PENDING.  3 OF THOSE CASES HAVE RESULTED IN DEATHS.  

 

AND WITH THAT, IT’S MORE OF THE SAME IN THE MESSAGE FROM GOVERNOR TOM WOLF.  AND THAT BEING…STAY HOME.  MR. WOLF ISSUED A “STAY AT HOME” ORDER FOR 6 MORE COUNTIES TODAY INCLUDING, ALLEGHENY, MONROE, MONTGOMERY, DELAWARE, BUCKS AND CHESTER COUNTIES. 

 

IN ADDITION, THE GOVERNOR HAS MANDATED THAT ALL SCHOOLS IN PENNSYLVANIA REMAIN CLOSED 2 ADDITIONAL WEEKS.  AS OF NOW, THAT IS THROUGH AT LEAST APRIL 6TH, WITH A RETURN OF STAFF ON THE 7TH FOR 2 DAYS AND STUDENTS TO FOLLOW.  THAT IS ALL SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY MOMENT. 

 

THE GOVERNOR’S ENFORCEMENT OF THE CLOSURE OF NON-LIFE-SUSTAINING BUSINESSES WENT INTO EFFECT AT 8:00 THIS MORNING AS WELL.  STATE POLICE ARE TASKED WITH ENFORCING THE REGULATIONS SET FORTH FROM HARRISBURG.  IF BUSINESSES ARE OPEN THAT ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE, IT COULD RESULT IN FINES AND POSSIBLY CLOSURE OF THE BUSINESS.
