TEENS CHARGED IN DEER ABUSE CASE

BREAKING NEWS THIS AFTERNOON.  THE TWO TEENS INVOLVED IN ABUSING A DEER ON VIDEO LAST NOVEMBER ARE NOW FACING CHARGES IN THE CASE.  THE JEFFERSON COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT THERE WAS SUFFICIENT EVIDENCE TO CHARGE THE TEENS.  THE NATURE OF THE CHARGES IS NOT KNOWN AS OF NOW.  ONE OF THE TEENS IS THE STEP-SON OF THE BROOKVILLE BOROUGH POLICE CHIEF. 

 

UPDATE - 2:30pm

(WJAC-TV) According to the Pennsylvania Game Commission, 18-year-old Alexander Smith and the 17-year-old juvenile have been charged with two felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty and two felony counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated animal cruelty, as well as several other misdemeanor and summary counts.

 

Smith was arraigned Friday and released on $50,000 unsecured bail.

 

The game commission says the other teen's charges have been filed and will be sent to juvenile court.
