SNOW/ICE CAUSES ACCIDENTS

THE SUDDEN BURST OF SNOW AND COLD IN THE AREA HAS LED TO SEVERAL ACCIDENTS IN THE PAST 12 HOURS.  THE BIGGEST, PERHAPS, INVOLVED A VEHICLE AND TRACTOR-TRAILER THURSDAY NIGHT ON THE ROUTE 219, JOHNSONBURG BY-PASS.  EMERGENCY REPORTS CITE 3 EJECTIONS AND 3 HELICOPTERS WERE CALLED IN FROM THE INCIDENT.  NO FURTHER INFORMATION IS KNOWN AT THIS TIME. 

 

ALSO, SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES HAVE FOUND THEIR WAY INTO DITCHES DATING BACK TO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.  AUTHORITIES REMIND YOU TO USE CAUTION AND SLOW DOWN WHEN TRAVELING IN SNOWY CONDITIONS.  AND TO ALSO LEAVE YOURSELF SOME EXTRA TIME FOR YOUR TRIP.
