DRIVER SERIOUSLY HURT IN MONDAY ELK COUNTY ACCIDENT

A 27-YEAR OLD LONDON, ONTARIO MAN IS RECOVERING FOLLOWING A MONDAY AFTERNOON TRACTOR-TRAILER ACCIDENT IN ELK COUNTY.  STATE POLICE SAY IT HAPPENED ON ROUTE 219, SOUTH OF HORNER ROAD, IN JONES TOWNSHIP WHEN THE FREIGHTLINER ENCOUNTERED A SLIPPERY ROAD SURFACE WHICH CAUSED IT TO STRIKE AN EMBANKMENT AND ROLL ON IT’S SIDE.  THE VEHICLE SPILLED A LARGE AMOUNT OF GLASS ON THE HIGHWAY, CAUSING THE ROAD TO BE CLOSED FOR A PERIOD.  THE DRIVER WAS TAKEN TO UPMC KANE FOR TREATMENT.
