THE FIRST CONFIRMED CORONAVIRUS CASE IN CLEARFIELD COUNTY IS AMONG THE 207 NEW POSITIVE TESTS FOR THE VIRUS TODAY IN PENNSYLVANIA.  OFFICIALS WITH PENN HIGHLANDS HEALTHCARE TELL US THAT PATIENT IS NOT HOSPITALIZED AT THIS TIME, BUT THAT THEY ARE WORKING WITH THE PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN THE SITUATION.  NO FURTHER DETAILS ABOUT THIS CASE HAVE BEEN RELEASED AS OF NOW.  THE TOTAL POSITIVE CASES IN THE STATE NOW STANDS AT 851.

IF YOU THOUGHT GOVERNOR WOLF WAS KIDDING ABOUT CITING NON-ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES THAT REMAINED OPEN, MONDAY’S 27 WARNINGS THAT WERE ISSUED SHOULD LEAVE NO DOUBT.  STATE POLICE TELL US THOSE WARNINGS WERE STATE-WIDE.  IF BUSINESSES REFUSE TO COMPLY, THEY FACE FURTHER ACTION.

PENNSYLVANIA MIGHT JOIN THE MANY OTHER STATES THAT HAVE MOVED THEIR PRIMARY ELECTION DAY.  STATE REPRESENTATIVE MATT GABLER AND THE HOUSE STATE GOVERNMENT COMMITTEE HAVE MOVED TO APPROVE AND AMEND THE SENATE’S PROPOSAL TO MOVE THE PRIMARY TO JUNE 2ND.  THE LEGISLATION NOW MOVES TO THE HOUSE FLOOR, AND IF APPROVED, BACK TO THE SENATE FOR A CONCURRENCE VOTE.
