PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS

WHILE MANY WERE AFFECTED BY NO POWER IN ELK COUNTY, THE POLLS WERE OPERATING ON BATTERY BACKUP FOR VOTERS YESTERDAY.  THAT SAID, THE ELK COUNTY VOTER TURNOUT WAS VERY LOW.  AN ESTIMATED 3 THOUSAND VOTED OUT OF 19 THOUSAND REGISTERED VOTERS.  POLLING WORKERS HAD EVERYTHING DONE BY 9:30 AND SUBMITTED TO THE COUNTY OFFICES.

THE RESULTS OF THOSE LOCAL ELECTIONS WERE NOT ALL THAT SURPRISING.  ON A BROADER SCALE, DEMOCRAT SUSAN BOSER WON NOMINATION TO FACE INCUMBENT GLENN THOMPSON IN THE US REPRESENTATIVE 15TH DISTRICT RACE IN THE FALL.  IN THE RACE FOR ONE OF THE US SENATE SEATS IN PENNSYLVANIA, REPUBLICAN LOU BARLETTA APPEARS TO HAVE WON NOMINATION OVER JAMES CHRISTIANA TO FACE INCUMBENT BOB CASEY.  AND FOR GOVERNOR OF PENNSYLVANIA, REPUBLICAN SCOTT WAGNER DEFEATED PAUL MANGO AND LAURA ELLSWORTH TO TAKE ON INCUMBENT TOM WOLF.
