The Elk County Catholic High School Alumni Association will hold its April Alumni Mass on Friday, April 20 at 9:05 a.m. at ECCHS. All graduates of Central High School and Elk County Christian/Catholic High School are invited to attend and celebrate with the students, faculty, and staff. Breakfast will be served immediately following in the cafeteria.

 

 

The kersey post office will offer passport services  on Saturday April 20th beginning at 830am. If you have any upcoming travel that you’ll need a passport for, this is a great time to apply. Call 885-6309 with any questions

 

 

The Clarion Limestone Band Association will hold it's Annual Vendor Fair and Artisan Show at Clarion Limestone High school Saturday April 21st 9am to 3pm. . Admission is free and there will be plenty of parking. More then 40 vendors will be on hand and all proceeds from the show will benefit the Clarion Limestone Band, which helps provide moral and financial support to the schools band program


 

The Congenital Heart Defect Coalition of North Central PA will be hosting several events this weekend. Friday April 20 the CHD will be hosting present moonshine outlaws from 8-midnight must be 21 and ID and cover charge at the door BYOB all proceeds benefit CHD.  Sunday April 22 the CHD will be holding a spaghetti dine, soup and bake sale and vendor and craft from 11-5.  Eat in or Take out. Both events will be at he Johnsonburg fire hall 99 Clarion Road, there will be a raffle auction at both events if you have any question call 512-2068

 

 

Fox Post 511 American Legion Baseball is holding a sign up on Sunday, April 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion building in Dagus Mine. Any youth living in Fox Township from German Settlement Road Rte 219 South to Rte 153 are eligible to sign up. Also, any youth in Brockway living in Fox Township from Route 153, South 219 to the County Line in Brockway are also eligible to sign up. Cameron County Chamber of Commerce &  Artisan Center hosting the annual Administrative Professional Day on WednesdayApril 25 from 11am-1pm. This year Cherie Miller from CDH Designs will answer questions about kitchen and bath renovations, Mary Kay McLean will teach a make it take it class and Aroma Café will provide a taco bar and desert. The National Child Abuse Prevention Carnival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 at the Phillipsburg Pre School Center, 580 Old route 322.  There will be games, door prizes and refreshments. Even Spiderman, Doc McStuffins, Mickey and Minnie Mouse will be stopping by to help us celebrate! Everyone is welcome!

 

 The Indiana District in Western PA Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church are planning to pilot an Addiction Prevention/Intervention/Recovery Workshop on Saturday, April 28 from 9am to 4pm at Lanes Mills United Methodist Church located on Rattlesnake Road  The workshop is intended for churches, civic groups and agencies who wish to work  together with one another to address the issues of addiction more effectively. Our hope is that everyone will be able to come away with a specific plan they can implement in their local community.More information will be available soon! Instructions and applications for the 2018 Dr. William C. Conrad / Stackpole-Hall Foundation Summer Jobs Program are now available at www.stackpolehall.org under the Summer Jobs section.  Students must be residents of Elk County and attending an approved higher education institution for the Fall Semester of 2018.  The website contains complete eligibility information along with a list of employers and jobs available.  All jobs are with Elk County non-profit organizations.  Students should download and complete the application forms and send them directly to the employers as soon as possible since employers may begin hiring at their discretion.  

 

Attention College students!! There are over 10 college scholarships that may work for you through the Elk County Community Foundation.  The Elk County Community Foundation added thirteen new high school scholarships this year, increasing our scholarships to 97 across seven counties. The Foundation has distributed all scholarship applications to the local high school guidance counselors. Each scholarship that is available has a different focus, so check each one out and see if it is right for you. Ridgway Eagles will be holding a adult prom on May 5th. Cocktail hour starts at 730 with dj to follow at 9pm. We will be having a Chinese auction, 50-50. There will be a taco bar and  refreshments. The Kane Area Revitalization Enterprise (KARE) is pleased to announce the eighth annual KARE for Kane is scheduled for Friday, May 11. A benefit dance will take place May 12th at the Dam inn in Wilcox beginning at 4pm with a band taking to the stage at 6pm. The cost is $20 per ticket which includes a buffet and there will be drink specials all night. There will be auctions and raffles as well. The NY PA Corporate Cup Soccer Showcase will take place Saturday May 19th at the Kessel Athletic Complex on the Pitt Bradford Games. Girls play at 1pm, boys play at 4pm. The members St. Marys Area High School Class of 1968 will be celebrating their 50th year reunion on Saturday, June 2nd at The Hills Restaurant and Lounge at the

Bavarian Hills Golf Course in St. Marys.The Reunion will officially begin at 1:00 o’clock., but everyone is invited to a decorating party starting at 10:00 a.m. The cash bar and grill will be open at 11:00 a.m.A three course meal buffet will be served at 4:00 p.m. The meal is being provided at no cost to the class member and their guest. Socializing and music will continue after THAT. Special rates on greens fees will be available to class members on June 1st and 3rd. Call in advance for tee times. The U.S. Army has a new program for college freshmen and sophomores interested in military service and want to complete their degree. The program is a summer camp where students spend five weeks training and learning about the military culture, and then complete the program through a host ROTC school during the academic school year. Upon graduation the students earn a commission as an Army Officer. Edinboro University and Allegheny College are two of the select schools that are eligible to offer this program. STATE POLICE TROOP S WILL HOLD THEIR CAMP CADET PROGRAM AT CLARION UNIVERSITY JULY 22ND THROUGH 27TH. THE CAMP IS FOR BOYS AND GIRLS AGED 12-14 YEARS OLD FROM CLARION, CLEARFIELD, ELK, FOREST, JEFFERSON, MCKEAN AND NORTHERN INDIANA COUNTIES. THE COST OF THE CAMP IS ONLY $20 PER KID AND THEY WILL STAY AT THE UNIVERSITY ALL WEEK.
