The Elk County Catholic High School Alumni Association will hold its April Alumni Mass on Friday, April 20 at 9:05 a.m. at ECCHS. All graduates of Central High School and Elk County Christian/Catholic High School are invited to attend and celebrate with the students, faculty, and staff. The Clarion Limestone Band Association will hold it's Annual Vendor Fair and Artisan Show at Clarion Limestone High school Saturday April 21st 9am to 3pm. . Admission is free and there will be plenty of parking. More then 40 vendors will be on hand and all proceeds from the show will benefit the Clarion Limestone Band, which helps provide moral and financial support to the schools band program
The Congenital Heart Defect Coalition of North Central PA will be hosting several events this weekend. Friday April 20 the CHD will be hosting present moonshine outlaws from 8-midnight must be 21 and ID and cover charge at the door BYOB all proceeds benefit CHD. Sunday April 22 the CHD will be holding a spaghetti dine, soup and bake sale and vendor and craft from 11-5. Eat in or Take out. Fox Post 511 American Legion Baseball is holding a sign up on Sunday, April 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion building in Dagus Mine. The National Child Abuse Prevention Carnival will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 at the Phillipsburg Pre School Center, 580 Old route 322. There will be games, door prizes and refreshments. The Indiana District in Western PA Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church are planning to pilot an Addiction Prevention/Intervention/Recovery Workshop on Saturday, April 28 from 9am to 4pm at Lanes Mills United Methodist Church located on Rattlesnake Road The workshop is intended for churches, civic groups and agencies who wish to work together with one another to address the issues of addiction more effectively. Our hope is that everyone will be able to come away with a specific plan they can implement in their local community.More information will be available soon! Instructions and applications for the 2018 Dr. William C. Conrad / Stackpole-Hall Foundation Summer Jobs Program are now available at www.stackpolehall.org under the Summer Jobs section. Students must be residents of Elk County and attending an approved higher education institution for the Fall Semester of 2018. The website contains complete eligibility information along with a list of employers and jobs available. All jobs are with Elk County non-profit organizations. Students should download and complete the application forms and send them directly to the employers as soon as possible since employers may begin hiring at their discretion.

The Elk County Community Foundation added thirteen new high school scholarships this year, increasing our scholarships to 97 across seven counties. The Kane Area Revitalization Enterprise (KARE) is pleased to announce the eighth annual KARE for Kane is scheduled for Friday, May 11. A benefit dance will take place May 12th at the Dam inn in Wilcox beginning at 4pm with a band taking to the stage at 6pm. The U.S. Army has a new program for college freshmen and sophomores interested in military service and want to complete their degree. The program is a summer camp where students spend five weeks training and learning about the military culture, and then complete the program through a host ROTC school during the academic school year. Upon graduation the students earn a commission as an Army Officer. Edinboro University and Allegheny College are two of the select schools that are eligible to offer this program.
